PUBLIX - HOUSE FOR JOURNALISM AND PUBLICITY
Berlin-Neukölln
Highlights
The Schöpflin Foundation is developing a center for journalists and media professionals in Berlin. Publix aims to help shape the future of nonprofit journalism and promote a well-informed public.
Covering around 5,000 square meters across multiple floors, the building offers office space for editorial teams and civil society organizations. In addition, Publix provides co-working workstations, audio and video studios, guest rooms, a canteen, and high-quality event spaces. The fusion of creatives from all disciplines – from illustrators and media professionals to programmers, from playwrights and filmmakers to teachers – opens up new perspectives for innovative forms and products of nonprofit journalism. The six-story building is equipped with AV technology and includes various functional areas: The ground floor features a publicly accessible event space, a conference room, and an audio/video studio (not open to the public). The first floor houses a co-working area with individual desks in various configurations and three enclosed offices. The second to fourth floors contain additional office spaces. Meeting rooms with different setups are available for shared use throughout all floors. The fifth floor includes guest rooms that can also be used as workspaces, as well as the panoramic studio – a high-end meeting room with a fully equipped kitchen and a stunning view over Neukölln.
